Cricket Format Explained — Know Before You Bet
Betting markets differ for each cricket format. Knowing what types of bets are available in each format makes it easier to make the right decision.
T20
20 overs per team. A match generally lasts 3 to 4 hours. The most popular betting format because results come quickly. Key markets: match winner, top run scorer, session betting, over/under runs.
BPL • IPL • T20 WCODI (One-Day)
50 overs per team. A full day of cricket, generally lasting 7 to 8 hours. Markets: match winner, total runs, series winner, top wicket taker.
ICC • Bangladesh TigersTest
The longest format, spanning 5 days. Betting markets are more complex and varied: innings runs, end-of-day score, draw/win predictions.
Long FormatThe Hundred
100 balls per team. This new format from England is even faster than T20. It is gaining popularity quickly in global betting markets.
New FormatMajor Leagues: BPL (Bangladesh Premier League), IPL (Indian Premier League), BBL (Big Bash League, Australia), PSL (Pakistan Super League) — you can bet on matches from all these leagues at ob999.
Crash Games — Fast Multiplier Games
Crash games like Aviator and JetX are currently very popular among young bettors in Bangladesh. It is important to understand how these games work.
How a Round Works
Place your bet before the round starts. The multiplier keeps flying up — it can crash at any moment. If you cash out before the crash, you win.
Auto Cash Out
There is an option to cash out automatically at a set multiplier. This helps avoid mistakes made in a rush.
Football Betting — Bet on the World's Top Leagues
Bangladeshi football fans are big followers of the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. You can place bets on all these leagues as well as FIFA World Cup Qualifiers at ob999.
1X2 Market
Home win, draw or away win — choose one of three options.
Double Chance
A bet that combines two outcomes — lower risk, slightly lower odds.
Over/Under Goals
Bet on whether the total goals in a match will be over or under a specific number — analyze and place your bet.
Asian Handicap
A handicap is used to level the difference in strength between two teams, making the odds more attractive.
Keep in mind: Big Premier League and Champions League matches often kick off around 1–2 AM (BST). Check the schedule before placing your bet.
How to Read Odds — A Simple Guide
Knowing how to read odds is essential before you start betting. ob999 uses decimal odds, which are the easiest to understand.
Example: Say the odds for a match are 1.80
You bet ৳500 × 1.80 = ৳900 total return (৳400 profit)
Implied Probability:
1 ÷ 1.80 × 100 ≈ 55.6% — this means the bookmaker believes there is a 55.6% chance of this outcome.
Odds Format Comparison
| Format | Example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 1.80 | Total return of ৳180 on a ৳100 bet |
| Fractional | 4/5 | ৳4 profit on a ৳5 bet |
| American | -125 | ৳100 profit on a ৳125 bet |
Decimal format is the default on ob999 — the most intuitive for Bangladeshi bettors.
"ob999 is the place for every cricket fan in Bangladesh — where the thrill of the game and the joy of winning come together."
